Paraphrase of Telegram from Sir J. Jordan, Puking,
No. 180, dated October 18th.1907.
Piracy in Canton Waters.
His Majesty's Consul-General at Canton has tele-
graphed to-day as follows:
"A piratical attack was made on October 15th. near
Walchow upon a British launch belonging to Mr. Pisher.
The approximte losses are estimated at 400 Dollars.
I am awaiting your instructions in the matter."
To-morrow I intend to make personal representa-
tions on the subject to Prince Ch'ing and to Yuan-Shih-
Kai.
